Police sergeant hit by stone thrown during disturbance

A POLICE sergeant was hit by a stone thrown by an alleged offender during a disturbance at Howley, Warrington, last night.
Police were called to the Howley area after receiving a request for assistance from an ambulance crew.
A man was arrested for alleged public order and alleged assault of the police sergeant by throwing a stone at him.
The man was detained in custody overnight.
