Su’s special day at the Castle

IT was a very special day for Lymm resident Su Williams recently when, accompanied by her family, she headed for Windsor Castle to be presented with her MBE by Her Majesty the Queen.

The award was for services to the community in Lymm over the past twenty-five years since Su moved to the village with husband Alan and daughter Eve.

“I confess I had been a little anxious about it” said Su, “but on the day everyone worked so hard to make us feel welcome and relaxed.

“The setting was magnificent and the Queen was remarkable. She stood for nearly an hour and chatted briefly to each of the sixty recipients.

“I am so grateful not only to the people who nominated me but to all of the people who have worked with me on the many projects I have been involved in. They can all only succeed because of team effort.”
