Police officer in court accused of misconduct and perverting course of justice

A serving Cheshire police officer from Warrington has appeared in court charged with misconduct in public office and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Michael Luckett, aged 31 from Sankey Bridges, Warrington, was initially arrested in May 2019 in connection with incidents which occurred between 27 February and 24 May 2019.

The 31-year-old was subsequently summonsed to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 29 October where he was charged with misconduct in public office and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Luckett has been released on bail and is next due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 26 November 2019.
