Police investigating arson attack on children’s play area

POLICE are investigating an arson attack on a children’s play area at Callands, Warrington, during the early hours of Sunday morning (Oct 13).

The incident took place at a park off Cresswell Close, Callands, Warrington, shortly before 6.30am.

On arrival a crew from Warrington Fire Station discovered a quantity of wood on fire under children’s play equipment.

Firefighters used water to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
