Team Jones is back on track

GRAPPENHALL runner Nick Jones – currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatment – returned to competitive running after a six-month lay-off.
He completed Knowsley Harriers’ monthly Willowbrook Halewood 5k race with a time of 25 minutes, 55 seconds, placing him sixth in the Over 45 age group and 43rd overall.
Nick last ran in April when he won the Silver Medal in the British Masters Over 40 10k
He has a fastest time for the Halewood course of 15 minutes 50 seconds so he was delighted with his comeback performance
But he also had the pleasure of seeing his son, Jordan and daughter Jasmine turn in great performances in the same race.
Jordan won the race in 16 minutes 33 seconds and was also first under 17.
Jasmine finished 24th with a time of 20 minutes 38 seconds to place third female to finish and was first under 17 – actually first under 15 as she is only 14.
She has improved her time for the distance by almost seven minutes in the last year.
Team Jones is certainly back together in style!
