Farm house demolition scheme back before planning chiefs

CONTROVERSIAL plans for the site of a former farm house at Croft will be back before Warrington planning chiefs next week – with a recommendation for approval.
A report to the borough council’s development management committee indicates that the principle of residential development on the site of Eaves Farm House, off Cross Lane, Croft, is considered acceptable.
The design and size of the proposed house will be almost identical to the former farm house, which was demolished earlier in the summer after it was decided it was structurally unsound.
Croft Parish Council had opposed the demolition and borough planners deferred a decision for more information.
Planning officers say the proposals have been amended to minimise the impact on an adjacent property.
Despite the age of the property, the Cheshire Archaeological Planning Advisory Service – who had earlier expressed concern about the demolition of the house – now say there are no outstanding archaeological issues.
