POLICE have mounted a large scale search for a missing woman near the Cantilever Bridge at Latchford, Warrington.
POLICE say they have not received any reports of a woman jumping off the Cantilever Bridge into the Manchester Ship Canal, but have confirmed they have mounted a search for a missing woman in the area.
They are urging anyone who may have seen someone jumping into the canal to contact the police with information.
Meanwhile a large scale search has been mounted by police and fire and rescue service in the area around the Cantilever Bridge and nearby Stockton Heath following reporets of a woman going missing.
The police helicopter has been seen circling over Stockton Heath while the fire and rescue boat has been seen on the ship canal near the Cantilever Bridge
