Crowdfunding appeal after family home hit by fire

A CROWDFUNDING page has been set up after a family lost much of their property when fire ravaged their home at Warrington.
The blaze was at a house in York Avenue, Culcheth on Saturday and is believed to have been caused by a mobile phone left charging upstairs.
A fire engine from Warrington went to the scene and four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to tackle the flames, using two hose reel jets.
Firefighters also checked a number of neighbouring properties and were found to have also been affected by heat and smoke damage. No-one was hurt
Family member Michelle Newman started a crowdfunding campaign on JustGiving to raise money for the family.
She said: “My Cousins and children have lost everything in a house fire which started from a mobile phone plugged in upstairs. Please help me and support them by giving whatever you can and help them try and build their family home back up.”
She also appealed for household items, childrens’ bunkbeds, clothing, etc.
