Farm housing plan given the go-ahead

A PLAN to create 19 new homes at a farm at Warrington has been approved – despite objections from 60 people.

The development at Delph Farm, in Delph Lane, Winwick, was also opposed by Winwick Parish Council and borough councillors Cathy Mitchell and Terry O’Neill.

But planning officers recommended approval – and Warrington Borough Council’s development management agreed with them.

Seventeen of the proposed homes will be converted from existing barns.

But a number of more modern barns will be demolished and replaced with two new houses.

Landscaping, parking provision and a footpath are also included in the proposals.

Six of the proposed homes are described as “affordable.”

Buildings of historic value on the site will be retained.
