A WARRINGTON-based entrepreneur is in the running for an award recognising the work of women in the North West.
Pamela Cunliffe, managing director of RnD Tax Refunds Limited, has been chosen as a finalist in the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAS), which have been created in association with women’s business network Pink Link.
Launched in 2017, RnD Tax Refunds was created to support SMEs in claiming back tax relief from HMRC for their research and development activity carried out within the business.
Pamela, who has been nominated for the Women in Financial Services category, has been chosen from almost 1,000 entrants from across the North West.
She said: “I am delighted to be a finalist in the ‘Women in Financial Services’ category and have found the support from NatWest and business growth enabler Kim Meadows invaluable. There is nothing more rewarding than helping SMEs to grow and with the average RnD tax claim being around £70,000, those funds received can have such an impact in propelling business to the next level. With a personal approach being at the forefront of everything I do. I’m excited at meeting with and raising awareness to SMEs across the UK.”
Kim Meadows said: “Pamela has created a fantastic business with RnD Tax Refunds. She is knowledgeable about her sector but is also passionate about what she does.
“As highlighted in this year’s Rose Review, there are a number of challenges faced by women when they start and scale their business including fear of going into business alone. That’s one of the reasons it’s important to support the achievements made by women in business through the EVAS. We congratulate Pamela and all of the other nominees, and hope they have a fantastic night.”
