England cricketers visit Grappenhall

ENGLAND’S Test cricketers may have suffered defeat in the Ashes match at Old Trafford, but it didn’t stop some of them from visiting Grappenhall Cricket Club.
Skipper Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler and coach and former England player Paul Collingwood,  called in at the Broad Lane ground to present former England, Lancashire and Grappenhall player Neil Fairbrother with a commemorative bench in memory of his Dad, Les, who sadly died at the end of July.
Club secretary Paul Tyerman said: “Les was a true legend of the club, a former junior coach, groundsman and long time spectator. He was a true gent and a real loss to the club!”
