FIVE-a-side footballers from Warrington took part in a triangular tournament to raise money for children and families affected by the Manchester Arena bombing.
The team from the Amazon fulfilment centre at Warrington met colleagues from the Manchester and Bolton centres – and raised £1,000.
Held in Manchester, the tournament raised money for Once Upon a Smile, a charity which provides emotional and practical support to bereaved families and has played a critical role in providing help for bereaved children from the Manchester Arena bombing.
Prashant Pandey, site leader at Amazon in Warrington, said: “It was fun to see everyone come together for a bit of friendly competition between the sites and support such an important cause in our community. We were all devastated by the attack in Manchester and Once Upon a Smile has been an incredible support system for children and families who are coping with this tragedy.
“I was also very impressed by everyone’s football skills and want to say a huge congratulations to the Manchester team for being named the winner of the overall tournament.”
