Warrington Town to host City of Liverpool FC in FA Cup opener

WARRINGTON Town will host local rivals City of Liverpool FC in the first qualifying round of this year’s FA Cup.

Their opponents are managed by former Yellows star Craig Robinson, who scored the famous goal that helped Town topple League Two Exeter City in the First Round back in 2014.

The two sides met in pre-season earlier this month, with Warrington running out 2-1 victors on home soil.

City of Liverpool currently sit 16th in the BetVictor Northern Premier North West Division with one win and two defeats from their opening three games.

Last season, the Yellows reached the final qualifying round before being knocked out in a replay by Conference side FC Halifax Town.

The tie will take place at the Winner Recruitment Stadium on Saturday 7 September, with any potential replay scheduled for the following Tuesday.
