A MAN and a woman, both aged 40, have been arrested after three children were rescued from a smoke-filled house at Warrington early today.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of child neglect.
It was shortly after midnight that firefighters were called by a neighbour who heard a smoke alarm sounding at a house in Samuel Street, Great Sankey.
After being told people were in the house, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and rescued three children, aged 4, 8 and 10.
They were assessed at the scene by paramedics.
Cause of the smoke was a pan of good left cooking on a hob.
The smoke had spread from the kitchen to the lounge.
The children were upstairs.
Fire crews ventilated the house.
