OFFICERS investigating an alleged assault on a police officer at Warrington have charged a man in connection with the incident.
Lloyd Groarke was arrested at about 3.30pm on Saturday following an incident on Queens Gardens, Palmyra Square, Warrington.
The 27-year-old has subsequently charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Groarke was remanded in police custody and is due appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
