FAIRFIELD Road Stockton was closed this afteroon (Friday) following a multi-vehicle collision involving five cars.
Firefighters police and paramedics attended at the scene at 2.45pm following reports of a multi-vehicle collision on Fairfield Road, Stockton Heath.
On arrival at the scene crews discovered that the collision involved five vehicles.
Four of the vehicles were parked cars and the fifth car was on its side and one person was trapped in the vehicle.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to release the casualty and they were passed to the care of paramedics.
Local eyewitnesses said an elderly woman was cut from the over turned car, but is believed not to have suffered any serious injuries.
