This year’s Winwick Carnival drew decent crowds of locals as a grey start turned to glorious sunshine

In what has become a looked forward to traditional family day out for the community organisers again put on a great Winwick Carnival.

As ever there was a funfair to thrill the children and this year a selection of real ales were on offer at the Winwick Leisure Centre for the grown ups.

Despite a cloudy start to the day and following several days of heavy rain it was a joy to see the sun come out in the afternoon to warm up proceedings.

A traditional Punch and Judy act delighted the children and harked back to days gone by.

Another fun event was the Little Terrier Racing track where visitors could let their dogs chase a lure around a track.

Also pleasing the crowd was a display of classic cars and motorcycles and a working show of steam powered engines.

Alongside the many stalls set up by charities and local businesses emergency service personnel from both Police and Fire Services were on hand to answer questions and give visitors the chance to sit in the fire engine and squad car.
