Parish to oppose farmhouse demolition plan

CROFT Parish Council is to object to plans to demolish a 172-year-old farm house and replace it with a new house.
The proposal, involving Eaves Farm House in Cross Lane, is also being opposed by nearby residents.
It is due to be considered by the borough council’s development management committee on August 14.
The parish council’s objection is based on the fact that work has already started, that a newly built wall is causing problems for a nearby resident and that a cobbled drive has been taken up.
Cllr Keith Bland said an earlier application had also been opposed but had been approved. But problems with the foundations of the building meant another full application was necessary.
The house is understood to date from 1847.
