WARRINGTON Market aims to take visitors out of this world on Saturday (July 20) as it hosts a special Warrington Sci-Fi Day to mark the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing.
In addition to the usual award winning market stalls, visitors will also find a variety of space and geeky themed activities both inside and outside the market.
The date marks the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo moon landing and to celebrate, a replica Apollo 11 will be on site and youngsters can even make their own rockets as part of a lunar landings workshop.
Inside up on the mezzanine floor, there will be a selection of the finest geeky stalls around and no geeky event would be complete without a selection of astronauts and science fiction character friends making an appearance and they will also be posing for photos throughout the day.
There will also be an X-Wing replica model inside the market and fun activities for all of the family throughout the day.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Russ Bowden said; “Warrington Market is more than just a market. It’s a hub of activity and provides a range of specialist events with Warrington Sci-Fi Day a great example. This is just one of many events taking place in and around the temporary market over the summer months.”
The event kicks off from 10am on Saturday and is completely free.
