RYLANDS FC has been paired with local rivals Runcorn Town in their first ever FA Cup tie.

The Blues, making their debut in football’s oldest cup compaction following promotion to the NWCFL Premier Division have been drawn away Runcorn Town, from the same division, in the extra preliminary round, with the tie taking place on Saturday, August 10.

The winners will face a trip to BetVictor Premier Division side Radcliffe on August 24 in preliminary round.

Having had to withdraw from last season’s competition due to ground regulations, Rylands are also looking forward to their first game in the FA Vase since 1991. They will welcome Athersley Recreation, of the Northern Counties East League, to Gorsey Lane in the first qualifying round on August 31.

Should they win that tie, they will be at home again to either St Helens Town or Rossington Main on September 14.

Meanwhile, in the Macron League Challenge Cup Rylands have been drawn at home against Barnton in the First Round on October 19. A home second round tie against Padiham or St Martins in the second round
