Warrington Town secure new training facility at Warrington Sports Club

WARRINGTON Town have secured Warrington Sports Club at Walton Lea as their new training base.

After months of negotiations between the Northern Premier League Club and WSC, a deal has been struck in time for Paul Carden’s side to start their pre-season training at the venue.

Based on Walton Lea Road, the club is home to sports including archery, cricket, hockey, rugby union, squash and tennis, which includes Warrington Cricket Club and Warrington RUFC.

The Yellows had been previously training out of town at JMO in Skelmersdale, due to lack of availability of facilities across Warrington.

It is believed that the grass training pitch will enable the club to attract players that may have otherwise not signed, while Carden rates the set-up as good as at some professional clubs.
