Twelve arrested at Daresbury Park Hotel after fight breaks out at wedding reception

POLICE arrested 12 people after a mass brawl broke out during a wedding reception at the Daresbury Park Hotel near Warrington last night.

Dozens of police cars attended at the scene at around 11.25pm last night while Warrington Hospital declared a major incident.

After reports of guests barricading themselves in a room a total of 12 people aged between 18 and 52 were arrested on suspicion of affray.

Police were still at the scene this morning with the area cordoned off pending ongoing investigations. A total of three people were treated at Warrington Hospital with minor injuries.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to a large-scale disturbance at a hotel on Chester Road at 11.25pm on Wednesday 26 June.

“Twelve people, aged between 18 and 52, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and are currently in police custody.

“There were no reports of any serious injuries.

“Police remain at the scene of the incident.”

Hotel owners Britannia Hotels declined to comment on the incident.
