Mental Health treatment experts to host open evening

EXPERT TMS based at the Regus Building, Cinnamon Park, Fearnhead in Warrington is hosting an open evening on 5 July to unveil their state-of-the-art treatment facility for mental health conditions.

Expert TMS utilise a clinically proven treatment known as Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, rTMS. This is a form of non-invasive brain stimulation that provides an effective non-pharmaceutical treatment for mental health problems with limited side effects.

The basic principle of rTMS is to administer short magnetic pulses over the scalp to stimulate specific brain regions that regulate conditions like depression, anxiety and other disorders. The method may be used alongside medication but doesn’t require it to start seeing results. The process is pain-free and therefore requires no anaesthetics or sedatives’

rTMS has been tested in over 60 clinical studies worldwide. In the UK, The National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE) provides independent national evidenced based guidance and advice to improve health. It has been approved since 2015 by NICE. It has been fully licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the USA since 2008, and is routinely used to treat depression in many centres across Europe.Evidence shows a high positive response rate to rTMS.

The informal event will commence at 4.30pm, with the facility being declared officially open at 5.00 followed by a buffet and a chance to have a look around. Registered Manager, Lynn Groves and Directors, Dr Nithya Anandan and Dr Rashad Nazir will be available.

The event is open to all but anyone wishing to come along is asked to contact Lynn on 01925 661721.

Consultant Psychiatrists Nithya and Rashad said: “Depression is a consuming and debilitating illness and we are are proud to be bringing this treatment to Warrington. As well as avoiding unwanted side-effects, rTMS acts much faster than antidepressants and doesn’t require the patient to change their daily activities.

“The treatment is also effective for a range of other mental health issues.

“Please do come along, see our facility, have a chat with Lynn or our ourselves and see how we could help you.”
