Start-up loans can boost business in Warrington, says Parliamentary hopeful

MORE entrepreneurs in Warrington should apply for loans from the Government’s Start Up Loans programme, says Parliamentary hopeful Andy Carter.
He has welcomed new figures showing the scheme has already awarded £500 million to small businesses across the country – including 170 loans totalling £1,286,000 in Warrington.
The Warrington South Conservative Prospective Parliamentary candidate says that since 2012, the Start Up Loans programme has issued nearly 65,000 loans to entrepreneurs and small businesses across the country, helping them to grow and create jobs in their local area.
As part of the government’s modern Industrial Strategy, entrepreneurs are being supporting to start up and businesses are supported to grow and reach their full potential.
The government is providing more than £13 billion of business rates support over coming years, as well as tackling delays in payments to small businesses to ensure that that they are paid on time.
Mr Carter said “If you’ve got an idea and think you can make a business of it, got for it!  Warrington is a great place to launch a business and I’m urging more small and start-up companies based here to apply for this support, which will help them take an idea and turn it into a reality.
“I run an SME, so I know first-hand about the challenges of being in business – small businesses are the backbone of our economy.  The work this government has done with its Modern Industrial Strategy and schemes like the Start Up Loans programme, is supporting business people who want to set out on their own.
“We’ve also taken action to cut business rates for small retailers by a third for two years – saving 90 percent of all shops, pubs and restaurants up to £8,000.  We’re backing small business and supporting our high streets.”
