Total Orthodontics Warrington is a specialist orthodontic practice located in central Warrington, Cheshire.

The practice was established by Mark and Peter in 1996 (Victoria House Orthodontics) and over the years they have built up an enviable reputation for providing excellent orthodontic care for NHS and private patients across all age ranges. The practice is now under the care of Total Orthodontics, part of Bupa But Mark and Peter still work here as associates. Some of their earliest patients are now bringing children of their own for treatment!

We specialise in the use of aesthetically pleasing ceramic fixed braces, as well as Invisalign. We have a particular interest and have gained much experience in treatment using lingual braces (appliances which are placed on the back of the teeth, and are therefore virtually undetectable). These are the truly ‘invisible’ type of brace. All age groups are catered for; children, teens and adults.

Do the orthodontists have the necessary specialist training and qualifications?
Both Mark Fazakerley and Peter Baldwin have undergone rigorous specialist orthodontic training following the completion of their degrees in general dental surgery. They hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons and Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons. They have also gained the degree qualification Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics)

Are the orthodontists listed on the specialist register of the General Dental Council?
Yes. This register only lists those dentists who hold specialist qualifications appropriate to their field of expertise. You can be confident in the credentials of the orthodontist if he is listed on the register.

Does the practice have plenty of experience in providing specialist orthodontics?
Yes – Mark and Peter established VHO in 1996. And still work here at Total Orthodontics Warrington as associates. They have created thousands of beautiful smiles since then! Word of mouth recommendations from previous patients form a large number of our new patient referrals.

Mark qualified in dentistry from Liverpool University with honours in 1987. Having gained experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery Mark became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, winning the Dean’s medal in the process. After further post graduate studies he gained a masters degree in orthodontics once again completing a “double” by winning the gold medal awarded by the college. Mark has vast experience, not only in orthodontics, but in many other aspects of dentistry and has made numerous presentations and lectured on orthodontic practice. Mark is listed on the General Dental Council Specialist Register of Orthodontists (GDC number 62793).

• Peter Baldwin BDS, M Dent Sci, FDS RCS (Ed), M Orth RCS (Ed), M Orth RCS (Eng)

Peter qualified in dentistry from Liverpool University in 1989. After four years of practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Peter gained a masters degree in orthodontics with distinction, becoming the first postgraduate orthodontist to gain such an award from the university. He has lectured at Liverpool University, presented research to the British and European Orthodontic Societies, and has an appointment to the panel of examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Peter is a member of the British Lingual Orthodontic Society. Peter is listed on the General Dental Council Specialist Register of Orthodontists (GDC number 64728).
