THIS year’s Newchurch Rose Queen, Ella Ross, was crowned on Sunday during a special 10.30 am church service.
On a dry but cloudy morning , in a tradition which the church can trace back to the 1920’s, the newly crowned Newchurch Rose Queen and her attendants Gaby Cox, Lilly Ross, Holly Radcliffe and Meryn Ebert along with crown bearer Tom Ebert were led into the Newchurch Parish Church by the Choir and the Parish banner.
After the crowning and Sunday service the new queen and her retinue led the congregation on a walk of witness to the Parish hall where refreshments were served.
Ella , who is 10 years old and attends Culcheth Primary School, takes over the role from Natalia Fuller who was last year’s Rose Queen.
