Appeal for witnesses following collision between motorbike and tractor

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on the A49 near Whitley earlier today (Saturday) involving a motorbike and a tractor.

The collision occurred at 12.10pm today (Saturday 25 May) on Tarporley Road and a man and a woman who were both on the motorbike have been taken to hospital with injuries believed to be serious.

The road between Bartington crossroads and junction 10 of the M56 was closed but has since been reopened.

Sergeant Nick Rogers said: “As part of my investigation I am really keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision take place and not yet spoken to police to get in touch.

“I believe there were a number of cars driving in the area at the time the collision occurred and if you saw the vehicles involved or have information – no matter how small please let us know.

“I also want to appeal to anyone with dashcam footage to submit it through to us.”

The man has been taken to Aintree hospital and the woman Warrington hospital.
