New member wins prestigious award for video club


A NEW member of Warrington Cine and Video Society has won a prestigious award with his first movie for the club.
Janardhan Medasani only recently joined the club and wrote and directed a video entitled “Let’s Play” starring his young son, Hanish.
The society entered the video in an inter-club competition at Bolton – and it won the Bolton Movie Challenge in competition with nine other North West clubs.
A club spokesperson said: “It goes without saying that we are very proud of Jana and Hani.”
Two other club members have also been successful recently. Tom Clark’s video “RP Assistive Technology” was awarded a Highly Commended certificate at the Burnley Film Festival and Derek and Marjorie Belton’s video “Moss” was awarded a 4 Star certificate at the British International Amateur Film Festival event this year.
Warrington Cine and Video Society meet every Monday at St Martin’s Methodist Church, Gig Lane, Woolston, WA1 4EE at 8pm and visitors and potential new members are always welcome.
