CCTV images ot men wanted after firearm incident

DETECTIVES have today released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with a firearm incident in Warrington.
At around 4.40pm on Thursday April 11 police were called to reports of a small firearm being seen and discharged near The Greenwood pub in Greenwood Crescent, Orford
The reports indicated that the incident involved three men – the man with the firearm and two men on cycles who were chasing him.
As a precaution, armed officers went to the scene. They made a thorough search of the area and carried out house-to-house enquiries without success.
There have been no reports of any injuries that could be linked to the incident and detectives are trying to establish if the firearm was a genuine weapon or not.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives believe that the two men in the CCTV images may have vital information to help with their investigation.
Anyone who recognises the men, or thinks they may know who the men are, is urged to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Ian McNabb said: “Having received reports of a small firearm having been discharged in a public place we immediately launched an investigation.
“The incident has understandably caused concern in the local area and I want to reassure Warrington residents that we continuing to take it extremely seriously and are doing everything we can to establish exactly what took place.
“We believe that the two men in the CCTV images may have important information to help us in that regard.

“The same goes for anyone who was in the area on Thursday April 11 and witnessed, or has CCTV or dashcam footage of, anything that may be relevant to the investigation.
“I would also like to appeal directly to the men in the CCTV images to get in touch.”
