Coming soon – Padgate’s scarecrow competition


THE third annual scarecrow competition organised by the Friends of Padgate Community Garden takes place on July 17-21.
People wishing to enter must live within a one mile radius of the community garden and the deadline to register is July 9.
Entry is free – and entry forms can be obtained from Padgatecommunitygarden@hotmail.com and can be posted in special boxes at Padgate Lane Co-op and R-Teapot. Bruche Heath Gardens, Green Lane, Fearnhead Community Centre or Padgate Community Centre.
The theme this year for all scarecrows is “Your Choice.”
All scarecrows should be placed safely in front gardens so the judges or members of the public have no need to enter the property. Judging takes place on July 17.
There will be a celebration event on at Padgate Methodist Church Hall July 20 when the winner will be announced and certificates presented.
