Warrington 4 Brexit group plead with voters not to give up on democracy

ORGANISERS of the Warrington 4 Brexit Group are pleading with voters not to give up on democracy and vote in the forthcoming European Elections.

Following their March for Democracy last Saturday, the Warrington 4 Brexit Group were delighted to see a surge of new members at their weekly meeting in Woolston last night (Thursday 11thApril).

A spokesperson for the Group said: “Whilst members old and new are dismayed and feel deeply betrayed by Parliament as the UK failed to leave the EU on March 29 as promised, we are determined to remain resilient and keep fighting for Brexit.”

However, Warrington4Brexit are concerned by the high number of members of the public who tell them they shall never vote again because of the shambles in Parliament or intend to spoil their ballot papers.

The spokesperson continued: “We urge our fellow-Warringtonians to keep faith with the democratic process and vote in the upcoming European Parliament elections. It’s crucial that people go out and vote to send their message to Parliamentarians. We urge anyone who has not already registered to vote to do so by visiting https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

The deadline to register to vote in European Parliament elections is Tuesday , May 7.

At next Thursday’s meeting on April 18 , Warrington 4 Brexit will formally decide who to endorse in the European Parliament elections. Their spokesperson said: “We don’t want to see the vote split, so we will be uniting as a group behind one pro-Brexit party and campaigning hard to get Brexiteers elected. We’re looking forward to seeing a huge majority of UK pro-Brexit MEPs win at the ballot box”.

Supporters who wish to join Warrington4Brexit are invited to visit their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Warrington4Brexit and/or come to their meetings at Woolston Social Club (formerly Woolston British Legion), 50 Manchester Road, WA1 4AD, every Thursday evening from 7.15 pm to 9.15 pm.

Meanwhile former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, officially launched his new Brexit Party in Coventry today, pledging to “shake up the British Political system!”

  1. Is it OK for ordinary people change their mind?

    Just checking.

If my mum says “I voted leave in 2016 but now I want to remain’ should I just tell her to STFU and make it clear the people of Warrington are not interested in her views?

Is that how democracy works in our Brexit England? We just working class people in 2019 that we do not care if they’ve changed their minds?

Is that really a sensible way to run a United Kingdom in the 21st century, do you reckon?

Are we allowed to change to minds about anything?

If a woman agreed to marry a man in 2016 but in 2019 she finds out he was a liar and a fantasist, will we tell her that changing her mind is something we will not and can not accept?

What punishments would the people of Warrington suggest for any pensioners who change their minds about choices made in the years 2012 – 2018?
