A police woman had to use an incapacitant spray to arrest a female driver who attempted to drive off after crashing her Range Rover into a parked car on Manchester Road, Warrington, last night.
A passing taxi driver also came to the police officers assistance as the woman attempted to drive off following the collision.
The female driver of the Range Rover was alleged to be driving whilst unfit after her vehicle struck a parked car right in front of the officer.
It is alleged that during the arrest the female tried to tried to drive off and do a three point turn whilst the officer was struggling with her.
A police spokesperson said: “We wish to thank the passing taxi driver who stopped and asked the officer if she needed any help.”
The taxi driver assisted while the officer completed the arrest with the help of Captor Incapacitant Spray.
She has since been charged with driving with excess alcohol, almost twice the legal limit and resisting arrest and will appear in court at a later date.
In another incident Door Staff at Reef bar in the town centre detained a male allegedly found trying to get into the premises in Possession of a Bladed Article and Cocaine.
