Husband charged with murder five months after death of Ann Marie Pomphret

THE husband of Ann Marie Pomphret has been charged with murder five months after her death in stables at Burtonwood, Warrington.

David Pomphret, from Masefield Drive in Winwick, has been charged with the murder of Ann Marie Pomphret.

The 50-year-old was arrested on 2 November 2018 after police were called to stables at Old Alder Lane in Burtonwood.

Inside they found the body of Ann Marie, 49, who died at the scene.

Pomphret was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries. He was charged today, Wednesday 3 April and has been remanded into custody to appear before Chester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (Thursday 4 April).

At the time of her death police launched a major appeal for witnesses and a £10,000 reward was offered for any information which would lead to a conviction.
