Celebrating 20 years of Lymm Life

VIDEO: Lymm Town Crier Peter Powell says he feared Lymm village was “dying” 20 years ago as he helped Lymm Life magazine celebrate two decades of publishing.

Peter, who has been the official town crier for Lymm for 25 years, was delighted to help the village’s free community magazine celebrate its 20th anniversary with an open top bus tour around the village centre, courtesy of Warrington’s Own Buses.

When asked what changes he had seen over the past 20 years,Peter, who is a local independent parish councillor, says he feared Lymm was dying at the turn of the century.

But thanks to the many hard working community minded people, local festivals and events and Lymm Life, he believed Lymm, as village, was now going from strength to strength.

Lymm Life was launched in March 1999 and soon became the official publication for the village, engaging in local community events throughout the year.

While many traditional print media have suffered from online competition, Lymm Life has moved with the times, engaging with social media as a sister publication to warrington-worldwide, which was also launched online 20 years ago, as the first independent online newspaper in the country.

We celebrated our 20th Festival last year and we are very grateful for the support you have given us in the past. You have featured us in stories about our events, said nice things about us in editorials and been a regular sponsor of
the Festival.
Lymm is very lucky to have Lymm Life delivered throughout the village and we know that local people always look forward to reading it when it drops through their letter-boxes. All the best for the next 20 years!”

Congratulations to Gary and the team at Lymm Life for 20 fantastic years. You’ve become part of the fabric of Lymm in that time and such a great way for people to keep an eye on what’s been going on the village. We’ve been advertising with you since the very first edition – long may it continue.

It is a pleasure to congratulate Lymm Life on 20 years of achievement and ever-growing importance to the community you service. At Lymm Osteopathic Practice, we have appreciated your valuable input in helping us raise our own profile over the decades.
As your publication has gone from strength to strength, we’re glad to say that so have we. With your help, we have managed to further expand our now 40-year-old clinic. Lymm Osteopathic Practice currently offers an even larger range of therapies which include osteopathy, acupuncture, podiatry, reflexology, EDMR psychotherapy, nutrition and more. All of which deal with a wide variety of conditions and pain presentations including complex pain. This achievement has also enabled us to help charities such as St Rocco’s Hospice and The Christie Hospital.
We look forward to your continued success and our thriving partnership.
