Fans of The Carpenters will be on ‘top of the world’ when quality tribute show We’ve Only Just Begun comes to Warrington’s Parr Hall.

This celebration of the life and music of Karen Carpenter will light up the stage on Sunday, September 15, giving fans the chance to relive ‘those good old dreams’.

Karen was the voice of the multi-hit making group The Carpenters who, along with her brother Richard, scored an unprecedented 17 consecutive US Billboard top ten hits.

The timeless quality of The Carpenters’ music makes it as relevant today as when they won their first UK hit with Close to You in 1970.

Karen Carpenter had a unique voice, so unique in fact that it has proven almost impossible to duplicate its deep smoky emotional edge, creating that uniqueness which is so hard to perfect.

Now, for the very first time in more than 30 years, the voice that melted a thousand romantic hearts lives again through vocalist Toni Lee, accompanied by a big band and top quality backing singers.

This two-hour show features all The Carpenter’s greatest songs including Close to You, We’ve Only Just Begun, Superstar, For All We Know, Yesterday Once More, Top of the World, Jambalaya, Please Mr Postman, Only Yesterday, Solitaire, A Kind of Hush, Sweet Sweet Smile.

Tickets are on sale now; visit parrhall.culturewarrington.org or call Box Office on 01925 442345.
