Pub staff’s boost for St Rocco’s

WARRINGTON’S favourite charity – St Rocco’s Hospice – has received valuable patient care equipment, thanks to staff at a local pub.
Staff at the Cherry Tree, Culcheth, nominated St Rocco’s for support from the Sizzling and Carling Community Action campaign.
The Cherry Tree is a Sizzling pub and Carling is supporting a range of local community projects across the UK.
St Rocco’s has been able to provide its Vitality Centre facility, which provides a variety of therapy programmes to inpatients, with new chair scales and pear push leads.
The chair scale, a wheelchair with an integrated weighing system, is crucial in allowing patients who are unable to stand to be weighed quickly, easily and with minimum discomfort, while the pear push leads are a crucial calling product that enables individuals with limited mobility and strength to contact their nurse.
Staff from the pub have visited the hospice to meet the appreciative healthcare professionals, support staff and patients, as well as see the newly purchased products in use.
The funding will have a lasting impact on the charity.
St Rocco’s fundraising manager Rachel Ingham said: “The new equipment will prove vital in supporting our patients for many years to come. We are very grateful for this funding award from the Sizzling and Carling Community Action campaign”.
