Raiders break into Co-op store through roof

RAIDERS broke into a Co-op store at Warrington during the night, stealing cash and cigarettes but failing to smash into a cash machine.
The gang of three or four men the fled the scene in Common Lane, Culcheth.
Now detectives are appealing for information from the public following the burglary at about 11.10pm last night.
The raiders broke into through the roof and fled around midnight after failing to break into the cash machine.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area last night, or on previous nights, to come forward.
They also want to hear from anyone who believes they may know who the offenders are or have CCTV or dashcam footage of them, either on foot or in a vehicle.
Detective Constable Ian Morris said: “Thankfully the offenders were unable to break into the ATM but they did steal a quantity of cash and cigarettes from inside the store.
“We are determined to identify the offenders and bring them to justice.
“Enquiries are ongoing and as part of our investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the burglary or believes they may have seen the offenders in the area.
“Perhaps you saw men acting suspiciously in the area before the burglary took place, either on the night of the burglary or on previous nights.
“Or maybe you saw the offenders fleeing the area after the burglary had taken place, either on foot or in a vehicle.”
