Woman charged with assaulting two police officers

A Warrington woman has been remanded in custody charged with assaulting two police officers following at incident at a local pub last Thursday.

Gemma Dunn, aged 34, of Greenwood Crescent, Winwick, was arrested shortly after 7.30pm on Thursday 21 February following an incident at The Stonemill pub on Sandy Lane West.

A Police Constable sustained a head injury as a result of the incident and another PC suffered a hand injury.

They were both treated in hospital and have since been discharged.

Dunn has subsequently been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to resist/prevent arrest, assaulting a person and occasioning them actual bodily harm, causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 and a public order offence.

Dunn appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 23 February and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 25 March.
