Fire crews in all night battle after chemical leak

FIRE crews worked through most of the night to clear up a chemical leak at the Lymm Service Area.
Three fire engines, from Lymm, Birchwood and Ellesmere Port attended the incident shortly before 10.30pm last night following a report that a tanker lorry was parked up and leaking sulphuric acid.
An environmental protection unit and a command support unit were also at the scene.
Crews used an environmental pack and chemical booms and were at the scene for seven hours and 35 minutes.
There were no reports of injuries.
