Lovely Lane closed in both directions after pedestrian hit by car near Warrington Hospital


UPDATED: LOVELY Lane has now re-opened following a road traffic collision earlier today when an elderly male pedestrian was struck by a car near the entrance to Warrington Hospital.

The road was closed in both directions between from the Pink Eye roundabout to the junction of Bewsey Road following the incident at around 1.45pm today, Wednesday.

It is believed the elderly  male pedestrian to was taken to Aintree Hospital with a serious head injury.

As a result of the road closure heavy congestion built up on Liverpool Road heading into town and also on Winwick Road.

The road has now re-opened.
