CAMPAIGNERS fighting to save the historic Raven Inn from demolition at Glazebury are raising money to set up a fighting fund.
They are seeking out partygoers and urging them to get out their gladrags for a special fundraiser at Culcheth Sports Club (The Daten) on Friday, March 1.
The event will be a 70s/80s disco night – fancy dress optional.
Cost will be £5, payable at the door, and all monies raised will contribute to the cost of fighting the planning application to demolish the 16th century coaching inn and build 10 houses on the site.
Hundreds of people have joined the campaign to save the inn, which closed in September, and make it available for community use.
