Boy of 14 robbed by thug

POLICE at Warrington today appealed for information after a teenage boy was robbed of his pedal cycle.
The 14-year-old was walking with his bike along a footpath parallel to the railway track off Rose Creek Gardens when he was approached from behind by an older teenager, punched twice in the face and robbed of the bike.
The offender then fled the scene on the bicycle.
It was around 7.20pm on Friday January 25 when the attack took place.
The offender is described as around 16 to 19-years-old, approximately 5’ 7” tall and of slim build. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and air-max style shoes.
The mountain bike stolen was a silver-grey Carrera Sulcacra with a brown decal, black seats and black handlebars.
Detective Constable Upile Mtitimila said: “The victim has understandably been left upset and shaken up as a result of the incident and we are determined to do all that we can to trace the person responsible.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information or CCTV footage that may help our investigation to get in touch.
“If you were in the area and witnessed the incident, or anything else that may be relevant, please contact the team here at Warrington on 101.
“The same goes for anyone who believes they may know the identity of the man or has any footage of him as well as for anyone with information that may enable us to recover the stolen bike.”
