A record number of runners turned out for the 5th anniversary of the popular Warrington Park Run which is going from strength to strength.
A total of 622 runners of all ages and abilities turned out for the free event at Victoria Park which is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who turn out every Saturday morning to help organise the event.
Park Runs are a national event with similar ones taking place around the country
But with the increasing popularity of the event causing traffic delays on Knutsford Road, organisers warned that all future events will start promptly at 9am – and any latecomers would have to “run faster to catch up!”
We have broke our attendance record again on our 5th Birthday! 622 runners, joggers & walkers joined us this morning. Thank you to everyone who has taken part over the first 5 years of Warrington parkrun and all the volunteers. @warringtonworld @calbardi @parkrunUK #loveparkrun pic.twitter.com/cH81PUkuAA
