WARRINGTON’S Crosfields Sharks Under 9s football team has been kitted out with new matchday and training kits and tracksuits by an enthusiastic sponsor.
The club trains at Great Sankey High School and St Gregory’s RC High School and developer Bellway Homes is  building nearby.
So the firm was pleased to show its support and cover the cost of nine full kits.
An FA Charter Standard community club, Crosfields JFC has more than 500 players across all ages and abilities.
Coaching is done on a voluntary basis and the club relies solely on sponsorship and fundraising to ensure that players have everything they need for their weekly training sessions and regular competitive matches.
FA McDonalds Football “Mum of the Year” Helen Atkinson, manager of the Under 9s team, said:
“The sponsorship is a fantastic contribution to the team and the new kits allow the players to look smart and professional and represent the club with pride when they are playing at home and away.”
Coach Sam Barr, and parent helper Mike Porter, were also keen to express their gratitude.
“The Under 9s are doing really well. They kicked the season off to a good start and we are hoping for a successful season ahead,” said Sam. “The new kit is great for weekly training and has already given them a little extra boost on the pitch when it comes to competitive matches.”
Mike added: “Grassroots football is so important and with the club being one of the biggest in the North West, allowing boys, girls and more recently ladies to play football, we are very grateful for all the kind support that we can get as it all benefits the youngsters and their enjoyment and performance in the sport.”
The Club is always looking for sponsorship for the boys and girls section and mums team and is willing to work with any potential sponsors to benefit all parties concerned. Anyone in a position to offer sponsorship should contact Helen Atkinson [email protected].
