Lymm Historic Transport Day set to open for business

1

LYMM Historic Transport Day will open for business again at Noon on January 3.

If that sounds a little precise it’s because each year now the competition for places gets more intense.

“Last year was extraordinary,” said show organiser Alan Williams. “As soon as we turned on the website the applications started pouring in. People tell us they put the date in their diary months ahead and as a result the whole event was full in a matter of days.

“It’s a tribute to the group who organise the event, and to the attractiveness of Lymm as a destination, that people are so keen to return year after year even before we have announced our attractions.”

The event itself will be on Sunday June 23, on the first weekend of Lymm Festival and, as in other years, it will be preceded by four days of school activities organised by Lymm Heritage Centre that are centred round the canal and the working boat “Saturn,” with the help of the National Boat Museum.
