Water Santas make a dash for a good “Claus”

WARRINGTON based Water company United Utilities was awash with Santas, as over 100 employees donned Father Christmas outfits and took part in a 5k run, with all funds raised going to Macmillan.

Earlier this year the company entered into a three-year partnership with Macmillan, aimed at raising £250,000.

Richard Lucas, health and wellbeing advisor at United Utilities who organised the event said: “Colleagues across the company pull out all the stops to do some amazing fundraising for this very important cause here in the North West.

“With Christmas approaching I thought it would be one last opportunity to raise some money and to get our people active, before any festive over-indulgence takes place.”

The Warrington-based FTSE 100 company has around 5,000 staff, has carried out plenty of exciting fundraising events this year including ‘UU does Strictly’ Ball, Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and an annual charity golf day.

All funds raised from the charity partnership are restricted to the North West, which means United Utilities will help support people living with cancer right across the region they operate in.
