Police launch appeal following raid on Co-op store

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a burglary at a Co-op store in Burtonwood, Warrington, last night (Tuesday).

The incident took place at around 11.30pm on Tuesday 18 December when three people broke into a Co-operative store on Chapel Street in Burtonwood.

They forced open the front door before stealing a quantity of cigarettes.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with any information or CCTV or dashcam footage that may aid their investigation to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant Tom Hall said: “Burglary is a serious crime and we are determined to catch the three people responsible and make them face the consequences of their actions.

“As part of our investigation we are keen to speak to anyone who saw the offenders breaking into or fleeing the shop or witnessed anything suspicious in the area.

“We also want to hear from anyone who believes they may know who the offenders are or have CCTV or dashcam footage of them or a vehicle they may have used to get to, and then flee, the scene.”
