Warning after spate of burglaries at Appleton

POLICE have issued a warning after a spate of burglaries in the South Warrington area involving ladders and tools left out in gardens.
Over the last week, a number of these break-ins have occurred in the Appleton area – in Field Lane, Saxon Close, Windmill Lane and Hillside Rd.
On each occasion, the offenders have accessed properties via first floor Windows.  Ladders have sometimes been used to gain access and the offences have taken place during the early evening.  Vehicles and jewellery are being targeted.
A spokesman said: “We are asking residents to be extra vigilant, and ensure that house alarms are set, all windows and doors are securely locked and any ladders are not left out in open view.
“If anyone has any information, or sees anything they consider suspicious, please contact police on 101 or 999.”
