MUNICIPALLY-owned Warrington’s Own Buses has scooped a silver award in this year’s UK Bus Awards for its new Cheshire Cat and Pops bus routes.
The company was in competition with bus companies from across the country and there was a strict judging process.
Managing director Ben Wakerley said::  “Our bus company is locally-owned and contributes significantly to Warrington’s local economy, not only from a comprehensive network, connecting people and destinations, but also as one of the biggest employers, buying local goods and services,  easing congestion and improving local air quality.
“We continue to make every effort to improve our offer and in the past year, we’ve reduced several fares, increased frequencies and simplified information.
“We work in partnership with design gurus Best Impressions to improve all aspects of our product.  This award recognises our efforts and means a great deal to the whole team”
