Organised by Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council, it is the third year the event has been held and, in addition to a variety of market stalls and outdoor entertainment, there is more indoors.
On Jackson Avenue there will be refreshments, children’s crafts and an antique fire engine at the Scout Centre, with an art exhibition and refreshments at the Culcheth Centre.
Across the way on Common Lane, there will be market stalls and a fairground with a Christmas Fair and refreshments in the Parish Hall. Radio Warrington will be broadcasting all day and the parish council will on hand.
At 4.30 pm the Christmas lights will be switched on after carol singing with Culcheth Village Choir at 3.30 pm
On Lodge Drive there will be a fairground, more market stalls and a barrel organ. Then, in Ellesmere Road the Methodist Church will have a Christmas Fair, Santa’s Grotto and refreshments.
On Warrington Road Culcheth Library is open showing the results of the schools competition, with Christmas Crafts from 10.30 a.m until 2.00 pm, as well as information on the work done by the Friends of Culcheth Library.
In addition to all this, there is the wide range of shops, restaurants and hostelries that are open in the village all year round.
Last year, an estimated 3,000 people attended the Christmas Market and this year organisers are hoping for even more.
